This week was so great!
We are teaching some really amazing people and families. One thing that happened this week is our investigator Lucia got baptized and confirmed! She had been gone all week helping her son and got back Friday night. She had a baptismal date for the 26/7 but we weren´t sure how she was feeling since we hadn´t been able to talk to her. We visited her Saturday morning. We had prepared and prayed a lot for this lesson and for her. We were teaching her the rest of the Plan of Salvation, especially the part about how families can be together forever and how people who didn`t have a chance to hear the gospel in this life have the chance to accept it in the next. After talking with her and answering her questions (really guided by the spirit), we asked how she felt about her baptism. She said she was leaving at 2 to go back to her son´s house for the week. Guess what time it was, 1! At first we thought that maybe it would be fine if she just got baptized next week, but we remembered that this was the day that we had felt she should have and that we just need to trust. We asked if she wanted to be baptized before she left and she said yes! With the help of the Elders we got her baptism put together way fast and she was able to be baptized! Also, it turned out that she didn´t end up leaving to go to her son´s house so she was able to come to church and be comfirmed yesterday! It really was a miracle.
Two great stories from that day also, like 5 minutes before her baptism, we realized that we only had a shirt for her since the bishop´s office was locked and the clothes we had were at our apartment. Hermana Corzantez and I sprinted down the street and bought a pair of white pants that ended up fitting her perfectly! Also, after she commited to being baptized that day and we prayed (spirit=strong), she said that she needed to make lunch. So there we were in her kitchen. I was trying to dice tomatos (which many of you know is not really one of my talents) and onions as fast as I could and help her so we could get to the church as quickly as possible. Once we were done, she gave us each a plate of food. Turns out she was making the food for us not her! Haha she is honestly such a good person and so sweet. I am really blessed to know her.
Also, fun story, we went to the Church Distribution Center to buy some baptismal gifts for our investigators. When we were leaving it was raining. We waited for the rain to lesson and then started for the bus stop. There were literally rivers of water in the streets. There was this one gigantic puddle that when cars drove through it, water sprayed the sidewalk. We noticed that and tried to hurry past before another car drove past but no such luck haha. We got drenched! Turns out we didn´t need to wait for the rain to lesson since we got just as wet anyway haha. It was hilarious.
I love you all so much. It is hot here but I know that it is supposed to be hotter in the summer especially since there isn´t rain to cool things down. I love you all and I hope you have another amazing week!!!
