Hola familia!
We had splits with the sister training leaders for our zone this week on Wednesday! Hermana Najarro (from El Salvador) came here to Villa Flor and Hermana Corzantes went to her area with her companion. Hermana Najarro doesn`t know Villa Flor at all so it was just my knowledge of the area and guess what? We didn`t even get lost once! Proof that the Lords guides our steps, my friends. Friday and Saturday everyone in Nicaragua was celebrating the Revolution so Friday night everyone was in the streets partying and Saturday there weren`t very many people home since everyone was in the Plaza. There were piñatas right and left and some kind souls gave me some candy! haha
One of my favorite things to do is give church tours. It is so easy for people to feel the spirit in the church building. One of our investigators came to church by himself this week! We always wake up early on Sundays to make sure people are awake to go to church and then pass by a second time to make sure they are ready and then bring them to church with us. We passed by the first time to wake up Luis, and we didn`t even have to stop by again because he went by himself! He has problems with smoking and drinking, but he really wants to change. The power of the gospel is amazing! I always knew going to church was important, but I`m really learning so much more since we are constantly inviting people to church with us and teaching them about the importance of going. We feel the spirit, we can recieve revelation, we renew our baptismal covenants, it is a commandment so we recieve blessings for going, we can serve other people, we show Heavenly Father that He is important to us, we learn more about His gospel and many many more.
There is a Pizza Hut nearby so we went there for lunch today. Pizza is always a win. Also, It was an adventure trying to cross the street afterwards haha
We brought one of our investigators to the family history center. I love that the church has so many different resources because different people have different needs. We have been trying more to make sure we are teaching people, not just lessons.
Fun culture fact: there are a ton of people here that sell stuff from their homes. Like there is someone on almost every street. It is way helpful for when we want to buy something to drink or candy for a Family Home Evening
I love you all so much! Have a good week. Also, Pioneer day is this week! Fun! Our ward here is having a talent show and the theme is Pioneers. I`m excited to see what people come up with haha!
