Hello!
First off, some fun stories from this week. One of the recent converts in the ward is a mom and her daughter. This girl is adorable. Also, they have two rabbits, a little one and a HUGE one! I held the baby one and then Hermana Corzantes was like give her the other one too! That was fun. You know how in the game 20 questions they always ask is it bigger than a bread box even though no one knows how bit a bread box is? I still don't know how big a bread box is, but I'm pretty sure this rabbit was bigger than that. Also, we got zone tshirts this week which made me pretty excited.
I haven`t had fish this entire time I`ve been in Nicaragua and then yesterday I had it twice! I don't know if it is better because it is fresher here, but it was delicious!! Plus, for dinner it was a whole fish! Head, fins, scales and all! Also, it has been one of my smaller goals for someone to think that I am from Nicaragua which basically means for me that my spanish isn't too bad, and the other day it happened! Hermana Corzantes and I contacted this family and the whole time the husband kept looking at me funny. Finally he asked if I live here and I was like "yeah, here in Villa Flor" which I didn`t realize til a little later that he took that to mean that I'm from here. Haha I was wondering why he looked so confused. Oh well, if we see him again I'll tell him the truth.
The missionaries here have a saying that is "echamos fuego" which basically means "we throw fire." I love that so much. This week, we have been teaching about repentance and baptism a lot and it has helped me to understand these priciples so much better. We had "cambios" this week but no worries, I am still in Villa Flor! I'm so excited too because this area is the greatest. The members are so great and there are so many people who have been prepared.
One of our investigators we found because we randomly invited to church last week Sunday morning, but he didn't go. Then on Monday or Tuesday, he saw us in the street and came up and talked to us! Now we are teaching him and he came to church yesterday. Plus, he was wearing a BYU tshirt. I think that was a sign haha.
Here are some fun pics from the week! The first is us with Elder Bickmore and Rodriguez who are the other missionaries in our ward. They also happen to be the zone leaders. The next is me rocking the zone tshirt proudly. The last two are from our lunch today haha we found a place that sells shakes, hot dogs, and pizza. Cue the food selfies. Don't judge haha.
Know that I love this work and this gospel. It is the best kind! If you can, you should make a goal to help the missionaries in your wards. I never understood before just how important members are, but they really can make a difference. Even if you don't have references you can offer to go with them to a lesson or make sure you talk to the investigators at church! I love and pray for you all. Throw fire this week!
