(12-29-14)

Okay. First of all, I really loved talking to you guys for Christmas!! Except now I just want to skype home every Monday haha. Also, I don't believe that I have an hispanic accent. All the ward members have been asking how you guys are and basically all of them say hi!

On Saturday we had a meeting with President and when we were waiting for the bus to go back to our area, a different bus passed by and we didn't pay attention because it wasn't the one we were waiting for, but then it started honking a ton. We looked and our investigator Jordy was driving! So we jumped on. It literally made our day.

We stopped by our recent convert's house because we felt like we needed to and it turns out that they had been having a rough time and had been praying. I know that God knows each and everyone of us. Also, go read Mosiah 24 verses 15 and 16 because it is currently one of my favorites. I love you all so much and hope this email finds you well. Also, happy NEW YEAR!!!!!!

(12-22-14)

Okay I have too much to write and too little of time but here are some fun highlights.

First of all today we had our mission Christmas activity. Today was basically our Christmas because on Christmas day we are working like normal. It was literally so fun and it made me so happy!!! We even had a real Christmas dinner complete with turkey and mashed potatoes! That was a happy suprise. Also, we got to watch a movie! We ended up watching the Maze Runner. It was super good. I forgot how much I like watching movies! Also there was a talent show and a musical program. It literally made me so happy. I got to see all my missionary friends that are in other zones so that was a bonus too. Hermana Corzantes was there too. Hanging out with a ton of missionaries is so wonderful and fun. I really do love Christmas. During the spiritual part the spirit was so strong. It was so good for me to remind me that even though I am away from all of you right now, it is such a blessing that I get to spend this Christmas here serving the people of Nicaragua and the Lord. One of the missionaries in her testimony said that Christ is walking the streets with us. I really love that a lot.

Also, I´m even more excited to talk with you guys! I think our plan is to call home on the 25th at about 1 o clock Nicaragua time.

Fun fact, here the 24th is bigger than the 25th.

On friday we had divisions with the sister training leaders from all of Managua. I was with Hermana Urizar. She is so great and I learned so much.

We went Christmas Caroling with the youth this week and while we were singing the first Noel I just couldn´t stop thinking about when the wise men saw the star and what hope and happiness they must have felt. The son of God, Christ was born. Through his atonement we can repent, we can get better bit by bit. We can live with our families again after this life. Death isn´t the end. How grateful I am for that. I know that he is my savior. He came into the world so humbly and had a marvelous work to do. I know that Christ knows who I am personally and he is here with me. He supports and loves me and you.

Thank you so much for all of your prayers. I really can feel them and your support. I wish you all a Very Merry Christmas and remember to think of what you can give to Christ this Christmas!!!!!!!! Much love

Hello world!

I still don't know what day or time I will be calling or skyping home but hopefully I will know next Monday! In my head the way it is going to work is that I'll split whatever amount of time I have in half and skype to San Diego and then to Vernal... but who actually knows. I´m just really excited to see and talk to you guys!!!! Start thinking of your questions now!

This week was really amazing. I definitely grew a lot this week. Even in hard times there are so many tender mercies. Also, when we endure and keep acting on our faith during trials and times of darkness it is then that we can see even more miracles. We've really seen miracles this week. We are teaching a daughter of a member and we put a fecha with her this past week. She is so cute and has such a sincere desire to follow Christ. Also, we've been working with a guy named Benjamin for two changes now and he told us that he knows that the Church is true and that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and that he wants to get baptized! He just wants to wait so that he and his wife can be baptized at the same time!

Our stake retransmitted the Christmas Devotional again which was way great because we could invite investigators to that too. I still haven't seen the first part because we left to bring more people and arrived late both times. Also, we hadn´t really found that many new people to teach this week, but on Sunday we felt like we should walk down a certain street and we both felt prompted to contact this one house. So we did and the whole family was there! they were super positive and they came to the Christmas Devotional two hours later! It was cool to sit and listen to the Christmas devotional and hear answers to the prayers of our investigators.

Also, we have a ton of "El es la Dádiva" cards that we hand out to pretty much everybody we see. We were on the bus this morning and gave one to a mom and her daughter and then everyone else around us wanted one! Too bad we didn't bring more haha.

In other news, I petted a pig and we finally leared how to make gallo pinto. We have some classy photos, but I'll have to send them next week because I don't have them now. Also a fun fact is when we are teaching a family and there are young kids we always give them our agendas so they can draw while we're teaching. You really need to see the agenda I have right now. There are some real works of art.

Basically, I love you all a lot and I pray for you guys all the time. Think about what more you can give to Christ this Christmas season!

Hello all!

Okay, first of all, Hermana Dalrymple and I didn´t have changes so that means that we are still here in Villa Flor! Or Villa Fuego as our zone likes to call it. That means that we will have had 3 changes together and by the end of the change I will have been here in Villa Flor for 7.5 months! Good thing I love it here so much. I´m so happy that I get to stay here for Christmas with these people that I love so much and didn´t get switched two weeks before Christmas.

Okay also lets just have a happy moment and remember that Christmas is in almost 2 weeks!!! I still don´t know what day we are going to skype home, but I will let you know! Also, fun fact here everyone paints their houses before Christmas so all the neighborhoods are pretty fun with bright new colors.

Also, yesterday was the Purisima which was pretty interesting. There are a ton of fireworks and people go house to house. It is almost like a Catholic Halloween. The neighborhood we live in has a lot of people who are Catholic so there were a ton of people in the streets. Also, The Christmas devotional was so great!

We had a really special experience and miracle this week. On Thursday we got a call from Bishop Cuz that said that there was a husband of a member that wanted to meet with us. So we stopped by the church and met him and put a cita for the next day at 8 am. We went and when we asked what he was hoping from the visit, he told us he wanted to get baptized the next day! We talked to him a lot and reviewed the baptismal questions and doctrine etc and he was beyond ready to get baptized. We got him an interview with Presidente Collado and on Saturday he got baptized and Sunday he was confirmed! It was so happy. There is more back story there but basically everything worked out the way the Lord wanted and needed it too. It was adorable because he kissed his wife before he went to get baptized and afterwards they gave each other the biggest hug and had the biggest smiles on their faces. They have their goals set on the temple! I´m so happy we could share this with them! They even bore their testimonies in testimony meeting yesterday

I´ve really learned here that God lets us help. This is his work and I´m sure he could do a lot better job of it but he lets us help so we can learn and grow. It makes me think of when a kid wants to help cook dinner. You know that you could get everything done faster and prettier without them but you still let them help. I am so grateful that the Lord has given me this opportunity to help him here in Villa Flor! I love this work so much!

ps A member made us a really good dinner because we still didn´t know if we were going to have cambios and she made baho de pescado. Also, I learned that you can eat everysingle part of the fish expect the bones and scales. We even ate the eyes. Please be proud because it took me like 5 minutes to get up the nerve haha.

(12-1-14)

What a week. Tuesday we had a multizone meeting with president. There is actually a pretty good story there because when we texted our district leader Tuesday morning at 8 to see if we had a district meeting at 10, he called us and told us that we were already supposed to be in Waspan for the MULTIZONE MEETING and to bring workout clothes too! So we sprinted from the house and of course there were literally no taxis and so we trekked aroud until we found one. It turns out that we were going to exercise together before the meeting. We got there when the exercise part was ending so of course everyone was making jokes that we just didn`t want to exercise haha. And then we found out that instead of just going til 12 it actually went til 5 so we also didn`t go to a bunch of citas that we had. But, it all worked out in the end and the meeting was super good and I learned a lot like always. Our phone was just being weird Sunday night.

We are teaching a family that I love so much. They are family of some recent converts in the ward. Hermana Dalrymple and I have been working on having even more unity and following the spirit when we are teaching. Have I already mentioned how much I love Hermana Dalrymple? She is really so great.

Here they don´t celebrate Thanksgiving so everyone had their Christmas lights and trees up like November 1st. So of course we have been singing Christmas hymns all month in our lessons. Karen, I know you would be proud.

I don`t know if you guys have seen the "He is the gift" video that the church has for Christmas... if you haven`t go look it up right now! It`s super good. We`ve been giving little cards that say "El es la Dàdiva" to everyone we talk to.

It`s really amazing how much we can learn and even after we have learned a ton we still haven`t learned it all.

Much love! I had other things to write but I forgot so...
