(11-2-15)

Hey FamiLEE and friends!

I probably should have prepared better for my last email... I actually didn´t think about how this would probably be my last one. This week went by way too fast! Does anyone else realize that I get home on the 10th? I don´t even think I realize it yet, but all the other missionaries keep asking how I feel haha

I just want to testify that I know God loves us. That he has a plan for every single one of us and that he gives us so many opportunities to try again and he never gives up on us. There was a quote that impacted me a lot that President shared with us on Tuesday when we went to Managua for Consejos de Lideres. The quote talks about how we need to pray more sincerely, accept and apply the atonement more, and listen to the Spirit. God is trying to speak to us, but we aren´t listening.

It is interesting that Heavenly Father doesn´t promise us that we aren´t going to pass through trials. What he does promise us is that if we trust in him and have faith, he will support and strengthen us. I know that real happiness come when we live the gospel of Christ. I have passed through some of the hardest things I ever have, but I am also just so happy.

I know that Christ has given us the best example. Thanks to him, it is possible that we can live with God again and live with our families for forever. We just need to do our part. We need to have faith, repent, get baptized, recieve the gift of the Holy Ghost, and endure to the end. I have such a strong testimony that if we do the small and simple things, such as pray and read the scriptures daily and go to church every week, God is going to guide us and show us the way. When we put God first, everything will work out in the end. We really just need to focus on the simple things. The things of God are so simple and so beautiful.

I know that Heavenly Father is a God of order and his authority is on the earth today! I know that Jesus Christ is guiding and directing The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. If we kneel down and ask Him what is the truth or what we should do, He will answer us. Even though we maybe don´t understand everything in this moment or don´t know what is going to happen we just need keep going with faith in Christ. In my mission I have seen so much that Satan does everything he can to hurt people and make them fall, but I have also seen the hand of God and know that He wants us by His side so that he can bless us.

If anyone is actually reading this to the end... Thanks! haha I could write so many more things, but I'll leave it at that for now. Just know that I love you all so much and that I love this gospel so much! Have a good week!

P.s. On church on Sunday in one of the classes we were talking about the faith and I really liked this scripture that´s in Alma 37:33-34
33 Preach unto them repentance, and faith on the Lord Jesus Christ; teach them to humble themselves and to be meek and lowly in heart; teach them to withstand every temptation of the devil, with their faith on the Lord Jesus Christ.
34 Teach them to never be weary of good works, but to be meek and lowly in heart; for such shall find rest to their souls.

Here are some fun pics from pday and we played a game where everyone tried to pop eachother´s balloons and we lost and when we went to Presidents house last week!

Hello!!!! I am a little bit short on time, because there are a lot of things I have to get done today, but I love you all! This week was really cool because we had interviews with president, where I always learn so much. Then the next day we had a conference with both of the Nicaraguan missions with Elder Snow and Elder Alonso. One of the things they talked about was the importance of keeping a record. Also of writing down the things we learn. I really love this gospel so much. Our whole zone ended up staying in Managua overnight which was also really fun. All of the hermanas in our zone stayed at the house of the TLs of the entire mission.

Yesterday at church was great because a lot of people came! I love this work a lot and I love you guys! Happy Week!

(10-19-15)

Hermano Jose got confirmed!!!! Recently the Lord has been teaching us a lot about pacience. There have been a lot of different people who we have been working with (members, recent converts, and investigators) that have had relapses and started drinking again. But now with the help of the Lord and a lot of prayer everyone is on the up and up!

I got to do divisions with Hermana Alvarez!!! She was trained by the missionary I trained, so she is my granddaughter! It was so happy! We got to talk about the people from El Naranjo and I learned a lot from her. I am trying to finish the Book of Mormon again before I go home so I just have to read 6 pages a day which isn´t tough.

We went to Chinandega today to buy groceries and shoes for Hermana Landaverde and I found Ana Shellcy (who is a Young Woman from my last ward) coming home from school!

It is amazing just how much we have to learn. The great thing is that we are never done learning. I love this work a lot and I love you!

So the pictures are of me and my companion, Jose´s baptism, Shellcy and I, and of us and our ward mission leader who invited us to eat dinner!

Pictures!!! Okay Some of the pictures are of us in the big park in Chichigalpa. They really have some quality parks here. Also, there is a picture from when we did a service project in Posoltega which is a brand new area that was just opened! It`s cool because in our zone there are a bunch of areas that for the first time in forever have had missionaries. It is so exciting and special to see the work of the Lord progressing! Also, there are some pictures of a maze race that our zone did today! It was super fun but now my arms are really tired from crawling through it haha.

Can you guys please pray for Hermano Jose? He is having a tough time with the Word of Wisdom, but we are working and praying for him a lot! We are working with a lot of really great people that I love a lot! There are always obstacles, but the Lord helps us and the people here overcome them! One of our recent converts here in Chichigalpa who is also the Young Men`s president said something that really hit me. He said that we don`t sign up for the war to sit down. We sign up to fight. When we are baptized we promise that we are going to follow Christ and spread his gospel. That is anything but easy but we know we have God on our side! After a tough afternoon when we had seen a lot of obstacles and problems, our ward mission leader shared with us 1 Nephi 1:20 go read it! I know that the Lord loves us and is preparing all of us for big things. When he gives us commandments he also prepares a way for us to accompish them!

We also had "Rendir Cuentas" with Presidente Collado which was really great. It always helps me a lot. I love you all so much and hope all is well with you guys! Have a super happy week!

Okay! I`m pretty sure we all loved conference a ton. It is just such a testimony to me that when we are humble and bring our questions to the Lord, He answers our paryers. I also love General Conference because when we bring investigators there are always talks that are perfect for them and address their needs perfectly. It was funny because when we passed by for our investigators to go with them to conference, they had already left to go by themselves!

Our zone changed a lot so there were a lot of new people at our zone meeting this week. There are a lot of new areas that they are opening too in our zone so it is super exciting. Like towns that have never had missionaries before, do now and the groups there are growing fast! I just have such a strong testimony that this is the Lord`s work. We had a meeting in Managua with all the leaders this week and something that I like that was shared is that as missionaries we need to run, not just walk! Or at least walk fast haha. We need to feel the urgency of this work. The Lord is hastening his work!

Here is a picture of Hermana Landaverde and I! For this week we have Hermano Jose and Junior they are both so great and are so excited for their baptisms.

I love you guys and hope you are having a good week! Winter finally decided to come so it is raining everyday! Of course that means before it starts raining it gets really hot. I`m bad at taking pictures but I will try to send more!

(9-28-15)

Hello!

Today was pretty crazy because of changes. So we found out yesterday at 5pm that Hermana Palencia is now going to be the TL in Villa Flor (in Managua). So yesterday we went around so she could say goodbye to everyone. I am so grateful for the time we had together, seriously though, I learned so much! She is so great! My new companion is Hermana Landaverde. She is also from El Salvador and fun fact she is going to kill me! Ha in mission language that means she is my last companion. Since this is my last change I am "dying" and since she is my companion she is "killing me". She is such a good example to me. Today hermana Palencia had to be at the bus terminal at 5am to go to Managua, so I spent the morning with Hermana Rivas who was also waiting for her companion. There was a little bit of confusion about who was supposed to go with who for changes, but it all worked out okay in the end.

We are working with some really great people who are preparing to get baptized, but of course we are always looking for the other people that God has also prepared.

I`m excited to start working with Hermana Landaverde and to do all the things the Lord wants us to do here in Chichigalpa together!

Wow this week! Esther and Socorro got baptized!!! They are nieces of a less active family that we reactivated. They smiled so big when they walked into the baptismal font. I love them and their family so much! We had a giant Pday with the zone which was super fun. I love these people so much. Changes are next week and we don´t know what is going to happen... I think I will be staying here for my last change, but we don´t know if Hermana Palencia will or not.. Stay tuned to find out! haha I love you guys!!!!
